Electrical Engineering and Design

Gekko's electrical engineers and designers have designed many substations of voltage levels from 480V to 115kV and power level to 100mW. Design includes equipment selection and sizing of transformers and switchgear. Some substations required selection and sizing of circuit switchers, generators, surge arrestors, meters and design of transmission lines. Studies and calculations include short circuit, load flow, voltage drop, cable pulling, grounding, synchronizing, and relay calibration and settings and motor starting for motors up to 30,000HP. Design includes interface with local utilities. Factory inspection and testing was performed on electrical equipment for many of the projects. Construction support and supervision was provided on many of the projects.
